Terms of service
The terms for using Grabber: your account, prepaid credit, acceptable use, the content you fetch, and our responsibilities to each other.
Last updated
Draft: this text has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet, and the parts in brackets are still to be filled in.
These terms cover Grabber: the website at grabber.sh, the API at api.grabber.sh, the MCP server at mcp.grabber.sh and the dashboard at dashboard.grabber.sh. Grabber is run by [Company legal name], [registered address] ("we"). By creating an account or using the API, you agree to these terms.
Your account
You need an account to use the API. Give a real email address and keep your password and API keys safe: you are responsible for everything done with your keys. If you use Grabber for a company, you accept these terms on its behalf.
Credit and payment
Grabber is prepaid. You buy credit, from $5, and each successful request takes its price from it, at the prices on the pricing page. Requests that end in an error are not charged.
- Payments are made by card through Stripe. If you turn on auto top-up, you allow us to charge your saved card the amount you chose whenever your balance falls below the level you chose.
- Credit is valid for 365 days after you add it. Credit that has expired cannot be used or refunded.
- Free credit, such as the credit you get at signup, has no cash value.
- [Refund policy, for example: unused credit bought in the last 14 days is refunded on request.]
- We will announce a price increase at least 30 days before it applies.
Acceptable use
You are responsible for the addresses you fetch and for what you do with the content. You agree not to use Grabber to:
- break the law, or infringe the copyright, privacy or other rights of anyone;
- overload, attack or disrupt a website, or get around its access controls;
- collect personal data in a way that data protection law does not allow;
- get around our rate limits or abuse free credit, for example with several accounts;
- resell access to the API as it is, without our written agreement.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and close it if the problem continues.
Content you fetch
Grabber is a tool that loads public pages for you. We do not own the content you fetch and we do not give you any rights to it. It is up to you to make sure you are allowed to use it the way you intend, including under the terms of the site it comes from.
Availability
We work to keep Grabber fast and available, but we provide it as it is, without a guaranteed uptime. We may change or remove features; if a change makes the service worse for you, you can stop using it and ask for [a refund of your unused credit].
Ending
You can stop using Grabber at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end these terms with notice, or straight away if you seriously break them.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and the courts of [jurisdiction] have jurisdiction.
Changes and contact
We will tell you about important changes by email before they apply. Questions: [contact address].
